Save Libby Hill Campaign!

Residential development is threatening the beautiful, multi-purpose trails on Libby Hill. Hancock Land Corporation owns a 29 acre parcel that sits directly behind the Middle School, and wants to sell it. Hancock has generously agreed to sell the land to the Gray Community Endowment, but we need to raise local funds to do it. If we don’t buy this land, and preserve it for public use, then it will be sold to a developer for house lots.

The Hancock parcel is serves as the “front door” to the trails. If we lose access to this land we will have to negotiate with other landowners to find an alternative entrance through a “back door”, much farther from the parking area and much less convenient.

You can help prevent this from happening by sending your check to Libby Hill Land Purchase, Gray Community Endowment, PO Box 1376, Gray ME 04039, or donate online above. A tax-deductible gift of $25, $50, $100 or more can help make sure we permanently preserve this land for public use and enjoyment. The purchase price is $160,000, so every dollar counts!
