All Libby Hill Orienteering
courses start/finish at the main Trail Kiosk behind the Gray-New Gloucester
Middle School (not the one at the parking lot). The actual features to find
(control markers/locations) on the beginner courses are primarily on the top
portion of Libby Hill itself.

There are 4 beginner courses (BOBCAT, COYOTE, TRAVELER, and WANDERER). Each course has two versions (1 & 2) that are mirror images of each other (same controls found in opposite order), for a total of 8 possible courses. Using both courses 1 & 2, two people can compete against each other on the same course, at the same time – both doing their own navigating by looking for the same controls in the opposite sequence. Or, you can try the same course in the opposite order on another day… things always look different from the opposite direction!
